Connecticut's Player-Driven Paintball Field
Matt's Outback Paintball is one of the top outdoor paintball fields in New England — rated among the best paintball experiences in Connecticut. Located in Coventry, CT, we offer dynamic tactical fields, premium speedball, and flexible game modes for first-time players, families, and experienced competitors.
Before opening to the public, owner Tom started playing paintball in his backyard with his son Matt and a small group of friends. Word spread across the state, the group grew, and what began as backyard games evolved into a full-featured, regulated public paintball field — shaped by the players who showed up weekend after weekend.
Today, Matt's Outback Paintball strives to be the safest, most welcoming place to play paintball in Connecticut — for every age, every group, and every mission.

Common questions from first-time players and groups planning a visit to our Coventry, CT paintball field.
Paintballs hurt less than getting hit by a golf ball, but more than a Nerf dart. Most players say the sting fades within a few minutes. Body armor is included with rental packages, and we recommend long sleeves and pants for extra protection.
Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty — long pants and a long-sleeved shirt are recommended to protect your skin. Dress for the weather; our fields are outdoors in Coventry, CT year-round during open season.

Call out "Hit!" loudly so opponents stop shooting. Raise your arms and gun in the air as you walk off the field. Referees are on-site to enforce rules and keep games safe.
Yes. All players must complete a waiver before playing. Complete your online waiver before arriving to speed up check-in.
